Here you can see our rules when using the libraries and a selection of what we have to offer.
Library card
Your yellow health card is valid as your library card. Children under 14 years of age receive a library card. Replacement of a library card costs 10 kr. Remember to bring your library card every time.
How long can you borrow?
The amount of time you can borrow is normally a month. For some items the amount of days you can borrow are shorter. See the date of return on your receipt. You can prolong the time with up to three months, as long as the items are not reserved by another person.
Self-service
You can order, reserve and renew on our homepage billundbib.dk. For this you need your civil registration number or your library card number and a safety code which you agree upon with the library.
Loan period
- For most materials the loan period is one month.
- For some materials the loans period is only 7 days.
- Check the due date on the receipt.
- It is possible to renew the materials. It can be done up to three times, and only if the material is not reserved to other customers.

Fees accrue the first day after the return date stated on your receipt and on your loaner status. Be aware that your loans can activate several fees, if:
- The items are not borrowed at the same time (renewing does not apply as a new loaning date)
- The items do not have the same loan period
- The items are not returned all at the same time
Lost or broken items will be replaced according to the libraries estimation. Are the items not returned within 8 weeks after the return date the case will be sent too debt collection.
The expenses will in this case be kr. 200 + collection fee. You will also be blocked from borrowing books until matters are in order.
We can offer you
Books, newspapers and magazines and a digital collection.
We have a wide selection of books and magazines for children and adults. Some of the books you can also borrow as audio books on cd.
You can read both the local and nationwide newspapers – in Billund and Vorbasse, also outside opening hours.
On our computers and at home you can read more than 200 foreign newspapers on PressReader
Movies, games and audiobooks
We have movies, instruction films and documentary movies on DVD and filmstriben.dk.
You can borrow games for children and adults on Play Station. We have a wide selection of audiobooks in danish and in english on eReolen Global.
We can get it!
What we don’t have ourselves we can try to get from other libraries. Ask the librarian or try yourself on billundbib.dk or bibliotek.dk
Internet
We have access to a number of payment databases, which you can use for free at our libraries.
For free you can use the library computers with access to the internet and there are hotspots, so that you can use our wireless net with you own portable computer.
Home library
Older or handicapped citizens, who are not able to get to the library can for free, have items delivered and fetched at their home address once a month.
